Aidan acted as a nutrition adviser to the club for a period in early 2018 helping shape thinking around food and hydration composition to fuel player diets both during their time at the stadium (training and matchdays) and away from the stadium (at home). Part of this involved menu planning and timing of intake of food to fuel physical activity at training and at matches. This also included recovery periods (post training and post matches). I found Aidan extremely helpful and creative. He was able to provide advice that was easily understood by all and the materials he produced (for players and club) were of a very high standard. Aidan worked in a voluntary capacity with his services donated to the club.

The Full Story

From a young age i have always been active and involved in sports. I began to train Ju-jitsu at the age of 8. Progressing up belt ranks i achieved a black belt which eventually lead me to assist in coaching classes. I progressed onto training in other martial arts such as Muay thai, brazilian Jiu-jitsu, judo and sambo. I then wanted to investigate ways to improve my overall performance by implementing strength and conditioning exercise in to my regime. This then led me to weight lifting which i have been doing from the age of 18. Enjoying the experience in the gym and training i decided to change my career and become a Personal trainer and nutritionist.
Applying to Queen Maragret University after 3 years i achieved a B.sc in Nutrition which enhanced my passion in promotion of nutrition and how it can aid the body in many ways. During my studies i also decided to undertake a Level 2 and 3 personal training course which then led me to be a qualified REPS3 Personal trainer. With a heavy interest in sport and performance i then applied and was accepted to study a PgDip in Sports nutrition through the International olympic committee which is globally taught at a very high standard of practice.
I have worked with clients within a clinical setting enabling many clients to reach their goals and reverse symptoms from weight related diseases. I have also worked with many clients whom has suffered mobility issues from osteoporosis, severe back pain from both muscular and spinal weaknesses. I am proud of the experience gained from the successful transformations whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team.  I am currently working with the general public and GP referred patients in local gyms as a personal trainer. I have also worked previously with sports clubs in regards to sports nutrition and aiding performance where i am in talks to work with a local basketball club.
With bags of experience in personal training, martial arts, weight lifting with my knowledge gained from my Nutrition studies and working with local sports clubs i wish to provide my expertise to the public and help aid them towards their goals using scientific researched methods. I have also worked with Lockhart and leith attending their weight-cut specialist course and gaining experience in the prep and delivery of their meals prior to a fight.
